Welcome to Mr. Olson's 8th Grade Georgia History Class. This is my 3rd year teaching Middle School Social Studies but my first year teaching it in Georgia. I formerly taught 6th through 8th grade Social Studies in Florida.
History has played such a major role in my life and I have been privileged enough to travel to parts around the world and experience many forms of culture. My mom is 100% German and my dad is 50% French. My brother also taught English for three years as a Peace Corp volunteer in the Oshana region of Namibia, Africa.
I have a bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida in Criminology and dual minored in International Relations and Homeland Security Sciences. I am currently working on my Masters in Teaching at Middle Ga State University.
Before becoming an educator, I had a career in Law Enforcement for the City of Tampa. I have coached Middle School Boys Soccer and both Boys and Girls Cross Country youth (ages 6-13)
