Ms. Blackwell

The media center at Huntington Middle School has a wide variety of materials that stimulate growth in factual knowledge and literary appreciation and that develop critical reading and thinking skills. Our media activities are specifically designed to assist learners to grow in their ability to find, evaluate, and apply information that helps them function fully in everyday society. The media specialist collaborates with teachers to plan lessons that both support and enrich the curriculum. The media center is open each school day from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Our technology includes 15 computer stations and two new interactive flat screen panels. Our Future-Ready library includes a lounge-type area with maker spaces for STEAM activities. We've added Ozobots, Dimension puzzles, and Breakout boxes.

Ms. Blackwell graduated in 1999 from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's degree in Middle School Education. She obtained her Master's degree in Library Media in 2012 from the University of West Alabama and her Specialist's degree in Teacher Leadership from Valdosta State University in 2015. Ms. Blackwell enjoys reading, crocheting, traveling, and going to Disney World. She cherishes time spent with family.

The Huntington Middle School Media Center received the 2009 Exceptional Library Media Program award from the State Board of Education.
