Bio

Dr. Sherria Burney is a creative and passionate educator and leader who is dedicated to shaping young minds and preparing the youth for the future. With 14 years of experience in public education and 4 years as a Behavior Specialist, Dr. Burney has developed a passion for creating inclusive learning environments that support the academic and personal growth of all students. Dr. Burney holds a Doctor of Philosophy from Liberty University, where she graduated with High Distinction in 2022. She also completed a School Administration Add-on Licensure Program from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2017. Additionally, she earned an Educational Specialist degree from Georgia College & State University in 2015, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the same institution in 2011. Dr. Burney earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, with a minor in Sociology, from Georgia State University. Also, she holds two Associate degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Gordon State College. Dr. Burney is excited to lead the way in developing empathetic and driven student leaders.
