Social Studies

I graduated from Fort Valley State University with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration with a minor in Economics and a Master degree in Middle Grades Education. I also earned a Specialist degree in Middle Grades Education from Troy State University and a Gifted Endorsement from Houston County.

I worked in retail management for 6 years before pursuing a degree in middle grades education. This is my 24th year teaching and my 16th year in Houston County; three years in Monroe County and 5 years in Peach County. I taught at Eagle Springs Elementary for 15 years; eight of them as a gifted teacher. I’m excited to be teaching 6th grade social studies this year at Huntington Middle.

I did my elementary grades in Haiti, my middle grades in Atlanta and my high school years in Massachusetts and California. My husband Mack is from Mississippi and has been a professor at Fort Valley State University for 36 years; three of those years as Dean and Research Director, College of Agriculture. Our twenty year old son, Mack, is presently attending Macon State pursuing a degree in information technology.
