Subjects Taught

I have attended Clemson University, the University of Maryland, and Georgia College and State University. I have earned a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and am certified to teach elementary and middle school grades. and have also earned a Masters Degree in Education. Additionally, I have earned a Gifted Endorsement to teach Gifted and Honors classes.

I have 17 years of teaching experience, both at the elementary (4th and 5th grade) and at the middle school level. This year marks my ninth year of teaching Gifted and Honors classes at the middle school level here at Huntington. My past work experience includes working as a computer analyst and as weather observer/forecaster. The latter experience was achieved while serving in the U.S. Navy.

I am married with 2 adult children. I am the Academic Quiz Bowl team coach.  Last year we won the Jimmy Carter Historic Site Academic Quiz Bowl in Plains, Georgia!  I enjoy golf and computers and like to participate in adventurous experiences such as being able to fly in the Zero-Gravity plane while I experienced weightlessness and travelling to northern Canada to conduct climate research near the Arctic Circle. I am well-travelled (thanks in part to the U.S. Navy and Air Force where my wife served) having spent time living and travelling throughout Asia, England, Australia, and much of the United States.
