Parents: we are very excited to share with you a new reading initiative starting October 1! "Hawks Read" is a program designed to get you as parents involved with your child's reading. Our goal is to improve the reading ability of our students and to raise their Lexile scores.
Many of you who attended our Lexile Night made pledges of things you could start doing to help your child become a better reader. PLEASE click on the link below and complete this one-question survey before Oct. 15. All responses will be shown after fall break. https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=8pCcKuGlREOx-Fa-gHHqEasVF522XltDiGqtBZrM2z5URTcwR09LOTM4VVZWVkZFVzhTT0I5M09DUi4u
Also, for FUN, we are challenging you to take a picture of your child reading and share with us. You can post on your Facebook page and tag Huntington Middle; we'll add the picture to our "Caught Reading" photo album. You can also upload your picture to our Instagram account. https://www.instagram.com/huntingtonhawks/
The theme for October is "I Got Caught Reading with a Tree". Be creative and take some pictures of your child in, under, next to, a tree. Can't wait to see them!
