The media center at Huntington Middle School has a wide variety of materials that stimulate growth in factual knowledge and literary appreciation and that develop critical reading and thinking skills. Our media activities are specifically designed to assist learners to grow in their ability to find, evaluate, and apply information that helps them function fully in everyday society. The media specialist collaborates with teachers to plan lessons that both support and enrich the curriculum. The media center is open each school day from 7:00 to 3:00.
OUr technology includes 15 computer stations, a SMART board, a new SMART flat panel, and ipads. We have a large selection of ebooks available online, as well as several digital magazines on our ipads. Our Future-Ready library includes a lounge-type area with maker spaces for STEAM activities. We've added Ozobots, Dimension puzzles, and Breakout boxes.
Mrs. Holloway graduated in 1979 with a B.S. in elementary education. She obtained her Master's degree in Instructional Technology in 1997 from Georgia College & State University and her specialist's degree in Instructional Technology from Valdosta University in 2005. She taught in the classroom for over ten years before becoming a media specialist. Mrs. Holloway enjoys reading, hiking, kayaking, camping, and cruising. She LOVES Walt Disney World, and LOVES spending time with her two grandboys!
