Mrs. Green welcomes you to Huntington Middle School for the 2023-2024 school year! She is a native of Montezuma, GA. She attended the Macon County School System. She earned her bachelor's degreein Middle Grades Education from Fort Valley State University. She also graduated from Georgia Southwestern State University with her master's degree in Middle Grades Literacy. August 2023 marks the beginning of her 11th year in education. She is thrilled to start another school year with some new and familiar faces.

The purpose of this class is to strengthen literacy skills of students who experience difficulties in reading. The teacher will use a variety of texts and supplemental resources to support the development of reading. During the semester, the teacher will work with your child to promote critical thinking, comprehension, and communication skills. Students will have daily opportunities to engage with books and develop their knowledge in reading comprehension, fluency, and phonics. Students reading development will be monitored frequently to ensure that your child is continuously growing in reading.
