Bio

Why I became a teacher……

I guess the reason I am a teacher is because of my brother. You see since I was seven I have had him in my life. We both were raised by my mother and at an early age she groomed me to be a mentor for him. Growing up being a personal mentor changed my life. I had to be a leader and responsible for all my decisions and actions because he was always watching my every move. Being a big brother taught me to be selfless; I had to share everything clothes, food, and knowledge. As I think back it wasn’t always fun being the oldest with all the pressure, but it was worth it. The power I was given to help develop and change someone’s life was so fulfilling. Now that my brother is grown and successful able to take care of himself, I feel proud to be his brother. I get that same feeling as a teacher every time the bell rings and my class begins to fill with more lives I can change for the future.
